Equality. As members of the LGBTQIA+ community, we know that this will be a lifelong fight. But each election cycle, we cast votes in the hopes that the folks we elect to represent us will work to build the world we want to live in--one where who you love doesn't matter, where the color of your skin isn't a barrier for opportunity, where men, woman, non-binary folks, genderqueer people and everyone in between are paid fairly, based on their talents and "experience" isn't weaponized to deny others the opportunities that most have never questioned. We want to live in a world where our government and communities acknowledge the lasting impact of systemic racism, and instead of minimizing or suppressing black voices, it amplifies them and listens to them and then takes action. We want to live in a world where women have autonomy over their own bodies in the same way their male counterparts have had since the beginning of time. We know that we're still so far away from that world, but it is the belief that we will eventually get there that pushes us to keep going. A lasting hope. This year, and every other, we're voting because everyone deserves equal rights.

We know that voting can be difficult, and in an election that's been this divisive, there's been pressure to vote now more than ever. While we love folks that go out and exercise that right, we know that for some, voting is incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Whether you live in a state that restricts your times to vote or places restrictions on how early you can vote or your state has such strict voter ID laws that it becomes financially irresponsible to vote in your family. We created the Voting Rights collection to highlight some of the reasons that we voted this year, and we hope to inspire others to proudly represent why they've voted too! But we also want to highlight just how difficult it can be to vote in this country. We're not sure what the right answer is, but we know we want to keep speaking up about it, and engaging with our representatives in the hopes that they'll make voting easier for everyone. Because everyone should have a voice and a seat at the table.
